Everyone may not like this, but it’s really great to relax in the woods among one of the Pacific Northwests largest wolf packs. You should visit this place if you’re planning a trip to Vancuver.
Since 1998, there have been the Predators of the Heart Sanctuary and it is a nonprofit organization. The sanctuary is in Anacortes, WA on a 10-acre parcel. It gives a home to wolves, cougars of pres, bobcats, birds of prey, many different species of reptiles and small mammals.
The main ambition of the sanctuary is to help the visitors develop caring and concern for the animals. They also want people to realize that nature is interconnected and that no one can live apart from it. There are some animals that are unable to reintroduce to the wild and they need a safe environment to survive their lives.
For $200, you can book two hours Wolf Encounter Experience at Predators of the Heart Sanctuary. You’ll also get a guide, and then you’ll first meet Kakoa and Max, the two wolf ambassadors at PHS.
You can also learn many interesting things about wolves and there’s no fence between you and wolves, so you can interact with them directly.
Dave Coleburn, the founder said:
“Our goal is to educate children about wildlife, not only to teach the facts about the animals, but to use an approach that leads to an appreciation, affection, compassion, and respect for these living creatures – to make it clear that an animal’s value is not determined by its similarity or services to humans.”
You also can join their volunteer program when space becomes available, if you’re a local or staying for a while.
