Wyley Simpson is 28 years old and he is from Texas. He started having morning sickness symptoms which he thought he might be his body finally rejecting nicotine from smoking so many years and he had to face transition and testosterone therapy for six years. But even after quitting, the symptoms continued.
The Pride Clinic for the LGBTQ-plus community and his OBGYN failed to explain his symptoms. After having five pregnancy tests, it was founded that in spite of the years of testosterone therapy, he was pregnant.
It was a great shock for Wyley and his fiancé, Stephan Gaeth who was 28 year old.
Wyley explained: “I was nervous. I was emotional, I start crying. I didn’t know what to do; I was already worried as this was my first pregnancy. But I was also nervous because I had to deal with a lot of stigma behind me being a pregnant man. Alongside receiving rude comments from other people, the pregnancy took a lot for me emotionally.
Having gone through the transitioning process since I was 21 years old, having physical baby bump was something so feminine that it messed with my head. But it was all worth it to have Rowan and to become a father – I wouldn’t have changed a thing.”
In September 2018, Wyley gave birth to a beautiful baby boy by emergency C Section and the boy was named as Rowan.
He is now six months old and happy and a healthy boy. But his parents couldn’t be happier as Wyley has started his testosterone therapy again which he had to stop during pregnancy, and now he is feeling good and said,
“Myself and Stephen suddenly turned into a gay couple with a baby, as opposed to me being a pregnant man. And Rowan is amazing; he made all of the mental and physical pain completely worth it. Now myself and Stephan are just reveling in fatherhood and can’t wait to continue our journey as a family.”
