Clogged bathroom drain: Don’t rush to call a plumber, just apply this simple trick to solve it.
With the following tips for unclogging your drain, you can tackle the issue yourself without the expense of hiring a plumber.
Try warm water and lemon
Warm water is a popular and effective solution for unclogging drains, especially for those dealing with grease and food debris in sinks. This method can also be applied to bathroom drains.
Simply heat up a kettle of warm water and pour it directly down the drain to help clear out any buildup. If the clog is stubborn, adding a bit of lemon juice can enhance the results. Just remember to wear a mask to protect yourself from any unpleasant odors while you work.
Combine baking soda, vinegar, and hot water.

Baking soda is a fantastic solution for clearing clogged drains. Start by gathering some water, baking soda, and a bottle of vinegar. Begin by pouring a generous amount of baking soda straight into the drain. Next, slowly add the vinegar you prepared. The vinegar’s acidity will react with the baking soda, creating a foamy mixture that helps break down waste and enhances the chemical reaction.
After letting it sit for about 5-10 minutes, pour warm water down the sink. The warm water will work together with the other ingredients to help flush away the debris.
You can also use a clothes hanger.

To start, straighten out the clothes hanger and bend one end to create a hook shape, similar to a letter J. If you prefer, put on some rubber gloves and have a bag handy for collecting any debris you find in the drain. If there’s a screw covering the drain, carefully remove it and set it aside in a safe spot to prevent it from falling into the drain. Next, gently lower the hooked end into the water pipe and “fish” around for any blockages. Once you feel that everything is clear, slowly pull the hanger back out and flush the water.
