Carer fulfills dying woman’s last wish with song.

We all age and eventually pass away.

I’m not particularly afraid of death; I see it as a beautiful and natural part of life. However, the thought of growing old and losing my independence frightens me.

Being entirely reliant on others, unable to use the bathroom by myself or recall my children’s names—that’s not a life worth living.

Maria spent her last days in a nursing home, fully aware that her time was running out.

Maria had dedicated her entire life to teaching singing and piano, and she truly missed being enveloped in music.

Fortunately, she had a stroke of luck, as one of her former students was employed at her care home in Austinburg, Ohio.

Joshua Woodard had been her student since he was just 9 years old, so they shared a strong bond.

Maria’s deepest desire was to hear the song “How Great Thou Art” before she passed away.

Naturally, Joshua was more than willing to grant Maria’s last wish.

With the lyrics pulled up on his phone, he delivered a touching performance of her beloved song.

Even more heartwarming, Joshua had known Maria since he was only 9 years old.

“Hospice workers are like angels, but this hospice aide is truly exceptional,” remarked Marti Adkins Redmond.

“Maria taught voice and piano in her earlier years, and this aide, Joshua Woodard, was one of her students as a child. Hospice workers are indeed special people!
