Mom hears son has been bullying classmates – her controversial punishment has the internet split in two

Bullying is a widespread problem that is disliked globally, yet sadly, it is deeply rooted in our society.

It is crucial to educate kids from a young age that bullying is never acceptable, and this is a lesson that most parents and teachers work hard to instill.

It’s nearly impossible to eradicate bullying entirely. So, what can be done when a child is discovered bullying another? A Texan mother used a controversial method to punish her son after finding out he had been insulting other kids in his class. The woman, known as Star, has caused a commotion online with her disciplinary measures.

According to The Daily Star, a mother decided to put an end to her son’s misbehavior by coming up with her own way to discipline him after getting fed up with his actions.

She mentioned to ABC13 that she was a traditional parent who values strong principles.

I don’t coddle my children. I don’t sugar-coat the world to them,” she said.

Instead of scolding him or commanding him to apologize to the affected children, Star chose a different approach. She dressed her son in a t-shirt that said “I AM A BULLY” and captured photos of him before school. She shared these pictures on Facebook, making them visible to everyone.

Her decision has received a variety of reactions. Some support her harsh punishment, while others think she went too far.

Star clarified to ABC13 that she didn’t share the post on Facebook to shame her son, but rather to offer apologies to the parents of any children he may have bullied.

After facing criticism, she decided to take down the post, but she continues to support her choice.

He shared that he discovered he disliked the feeling and didn’t want others to experience it because of him. That was precisely the lesson she hoped he would learn.

Experts are concerned that Star’s actions may have negative consequences, but the mother insists that her son’s behavior has already improved.

“He’ll survive. And he’s already been treating his sisters better. He’s already been treating his cousins better. He learned from it. That’s all that matters,” she said.

Star’s actions are definitely causing a lot of debate, but if her son has shown better behavior, maybe he has learned a valuable lesson that all children need to learn at some point. What is your opinion? Do you think Star went too far? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
