Many men and women spend thousands of dollars on expensive surgeries and treatments to meet society’s difficult-to-attain standards of beauty. And also they highlight only the best parts of their lives in an attempt to appear “perfect” on social media.
Planet Prudence is an artist who does the exact opposite of these images. She illustrates her life the in an incredibly refreshing way. The activist uses her “imperfections” as fodder for humorous content rather than pretend to be something she’s not.
She writes, “The following illustrations summarize my whole life as a woman, living in a world full of things I’ll presumably never understand. I’m always relieved to learn that I’m not the only awkward human being on Earth. Let’s laugh at our everyday struggles and be awkward together! Don’t forget to comment about your own experiences as a woman!”
Planet Prudence has gathered over 338,000 followers and her comics have been well-received on Instagram. We all have to remember that there is no such thing as “perfection,” and that truly living is embracing one’s flaws and having fun.
