They disturb us a lot and the scratching is definitely not entertaining. Many people used to use insect repellents which unfortunately contain DEET – toxic chemicals.
But you can use natural ones to save yourself from the harmful effects of insect repellents. Here are some natural ingredients that will help you to fight with the insects and bugs.
You can keep moths away by cedar as they do not like cedar. Keep it in your closet or dresser to prevent them from chewing your clothes.
Rub a citrus peel to the areas of your home that may have spiders such as on your windowsills, bookshelves, etc.
Lemon Eucalyptus Oil
Lemon eucalyptus oil is as effective as DEET to mosquitoes; it can also prevent tick bites.
You can be safe from mosquitoes when you are eating a lot of garlic. Bugs do not like it and they stay away from you. You can use garlic powder and sprinkle it around your home if you don’t like garlic breath.
White vinegar is the best solution if you have a problem with ants. Take a spray bottle and fill it with white vinegar and spray it everywhere.
Plant some fragrant herbs in the front as well as the back door of your home in order to keep the bugs away from your home. You can use garlic, mint, basil, citronella, lemongrass, bay leaves, and catnip for this.
Keep your home clean to keep your home safe from insects and bugs. Wash the surfaces in your home with soapy water on a regular basis.
Sprinkled cinnamon is also a best solution for bugs. You can use cinnamon to sprinkle your children’s sandbox in order to keep the bugs away .

Try chalk for ants as they do not like it. Just draw lines with chalk around your home in order to get rid of ants.
Slice a cucumber and leave it in your kitchen. And ants will no longer stay ther as they don’t like cucumber.
When you are hiking, camping, gardening or any other outdoor activity, keep some dryer sheets with you, and the insects will stay away from you.
Cut some onions and put them in a container filled with water and there will be no bugs anymore. You also can protect your plants in the garden with onions.
Baking Soda and Sugar
Cockroaches love sugar. Make a mixture of equal parts of baking soda and sugar and spread it where the cockroaches may appear and there will be no more cockroaches as it is not good for their digestive system.
Make a mixture of vanilla extract, water, and add mint extracts, lavender, or lemongrass extract and this will make insect repellent without a disgusting smell and it will keep the insects away.
Wear light clothes instead of dark ones, as mosquitoes like dark colors. You can protect you from bites by wearing light colors.
We release hormones and pheromones that bugs tend to like during stress and sweat. So, if you do not want to be attacked by bugs, you should be calm. You can try exercising in an air-conditioned room.
You can use soybean oil to keep mosquitoes away. According to a study, repellents which contain soybean oil keep the mosquitoes away for 94.6 mins.
Many outdoor lanterns, torches, and candles contain citronella as bugs don’t like it. Plant it in your yard, apply the oil on your skin, or use candles to use it as an effective insect repellent.
Don’t use shampoo with scent of a strawberry, as bugs are fans of fruits and flower. So, use fragrance-free or unscented body product to avoid bugs problems.
Remove Standing Water
Don’t keep containers in your home that are filled with standing water. Remove them as soon as possible as mosquitoes like to live near standing water. You also need to trim your grass short.
