Art has the ability to give visual pleasure, expand the mind, and also make us think. Here are some brutally honest illustrations, which have been creating by an Austrian illustrator Gerhard Haderer for decades noting why today’s society is far from perfection.
People started to react, especially The Catholic Church when the artist faced court hearing because of his book “The Life of Jesus”. When the Greek court found him guilty in Greece for insulting the religious world in 2005 this story tops off. He received a 6-month suspended sentence. This inscription was corrected after an appeal, and Gerhard Haderer was discharged a few months later.
When he worked as a cartoonist and illustrator for advertising companies at the beginning of his career he started to develop his realistic style.
He had to face a cancer surgery in 1985, and abandoned his job and became an independent satirical cartoonist.
Here are some of the brutally honest illustrations of the Austrian artist.
