Nature never ceases to amaze us and just when we think we’ve seen it all, something comes along to prove us wrong. There are over a million and a half known plant species in the world; but experts believe that there are still many to discover.
Among flowers, trees, shrubs, grasses, and algae, there is a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and colors. Human beings are used to the types of plants found in the cities where we live; but if we enter a jungle that is not made of concrete, we will get several surprises.
It turns out that there are plants that look like anything but a plant. Or that they have extravagant shapes and magnificent colors. In short, they are strange, unreal plants that seem to come from another world. The kind you’d see in a sci-fi movie; but we assure you that they are not fake and that the only place you will find them is on Earth. Below you can see some of these unusual, almost alien-looking plants.
1.Stapelia hirsuta, also called starflower

2.This is the flower of a plant known as stink cabbage (Symplocarpus foetidus)

It is not harmful and in fact, its bad smell attracts pollinating animals.
3.Zingiber spectabile or beehive ginger is a royal species of ginger from Southeast Asia, where it has medicinal use

But in the West it is purely ornamental due to its peculiar shape and color.
4.This is an apple of Sodom (Calotropis procera) and the juice it releases is quite toxic.

5.This rainbow-colored succulent is a Cotyledon orbiculata, also known as pig’s ear
