102-Year-Old Dancer Sees Herself On Film For the First Time

The old dancer, Alice Barker lived to 103 years. In her 30s and 40s she used to strut on the stage as a dancer. Even though she was vibrant, beautiful and talented, she hasn’t seen herself on film.

She finally saw herself performing on film with the help of Mark Cantor of Jazz on Film and David Shuff.

They found some films that featured Alice when shuffling through several old films and took them to Alice. She was resided in a nursing home.

David Shuff was the one who shared Alice’s story on Reddit. He has also written that the videos were now with Alice and they are often played in her retirement center’s communal room. And she’s become a ‘rock star these days.’

Alice also knows that her videos are online now and she’s really happy about it as she ‘feels connected to the world again’ said David Shuff.

She gets the chance to watch herself dance again is the best part.

She said that ‘I used to often say to myself, I am being paid to do something that I enjoy doing and I would do it for free,’

‘Because it just felt so good it, because that music, you know, I just get carried away in it.’
